Basic computer protection and security of messengers and video conferences

With the current restrictions on movement, digitalisation is experiencing an incredible boost. Home schooling, online doctor’s visits and video conferences from morning till night were still a distant future for many of us until a few weeks ago - now they are shaping our everyday lives. With the shift of our social contacts to the Internet, the protection of our personal data has taken on a more important role.

The Digitale Gesellschaft will therefore offer several online courses on digital self-defence as part of the 7at7 series.

In the first part, we will look at basic computer protection and discuss topics such as passwords, backups and hard disk encryption. In the second part we will look at various tools (e-mail, messenger and video conferencing) and evaluate them in terms of data protection and data security but also in terms of sustainability and handling. This introductory course in digital self-defense will last about 90 minutes. Afterwards there will be time for questions and discussions.

The workshops on digital self-defence will take place on the BigBlueButton web conferencing and e-learning server hosted by Digitale Gesellschaft.

The exact address will be provided after an e-mail registration at 7(at)7at7.ch.h

Note: Presentation language is German, but participation in English for comments and questions is possible
